Our goal is to produce wholesome wines with character - wines that are fun to drink!
Our philosophy on winegrowing can be summed up as follows: Integrated, nature-friendly cultivation of mainly traditional grapes in accordance with the guidelines of the VDP (Association of German Quality Winegrowers) - on top Franconian locations.
Wine quality is produced in the vineyard! For this reason, we cut back the vines regulating the fruit produce and in summer then proceed to apply further selective measures, the aim being a production of 30 - 70 hectoliters per hectare.
All grapes are hand-picked and classified according the their degree of maturity and general condition for the various wine quality types. For more information please click here.
Wine production
The grapes are swiftly pressed so as best to preserve the quality. The next step is to purify the fresh grape juice by allowing natural sedimentation.
This is followed by a temperature-controlled fermentation process an long-term storage on yeast.
In February/March of the following year the wine is filtered for the first time. We allow our wines a lot of time to mature at their own pace.
